WHY CHOOSE QC STEAM?

Its All About PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Our mission is to help these young men achieve their goals both in hockey and in education while promoting social growth through community involvement. We are committed to the advancement of our players, both athletically and socially, so we can develop them into successful and well rounded young men.

The Queen City Steam is a proud member of the Central States Hockey League, the premier USA Hockey Tier III Junior A league in the country. We are aware of the fact that there are many devoted young players ages 16-20 that aspire to play Collegiate or professional ice hockey.

We look forward to another season of fun and competitive hockey. Our objective for the coming season is not only to provide a successful hockey future for our players but also to provide great hockey entertainment for our local community.

INTERESTED IN BEING A HOST FAMILY?

The Queen City Steam JR A hockey organization exists to help young men to develop their hockey skills at a much more competitive level.  Typically, these young men (ages 17 to 20) are interested in gaining exposure to College and Professional scouts so that they may further their hockey careers.  Since most of our players come from outside the Greater Cincinnati area, and are away from home for the first time, it is important that we match each player with the right kind of family environment.

What we need from a Host Family

  • A room for the player to sleep
  • A desk if possible (possible internet connection)
  • Access to most meals either with the family or by themselves
  • Moral support for them as they are away from home

What does a Host Family receive in return?

  • A monthly stipend to help defray costs
  • Help with nutritional needs for the player
  • Two (2) Season Passes to all home games
  • A highly skilled player available to help your player (if applicable)
  • A sense of pride knowing you have helped an athlete to pursue their dream
